Private Tours of Cornwall
For those who want to travel a little further and explore the region in greater depth, we offer private tours. With exclusive use of the vehicle, full attention of the tour guide and greater flexibility, it's an opportunity to really get to grips with Cornwall and visit some of those out of the way locations.
In addition to the the history and mystery of West Cornwall, we can visit Tintagel Castle and trace legendary footsteps on a King Arthur tour, wander through the winding lanes of Port Isaac and cruise along the Atlantic coast.
Private Tour Details
As there are no other passengers, these tours are much more flexible. We can pick you up from anywhere in West Cornwall for a half day tour or anywhere in Cornwall for a full day tour.
These depend on your pick up point and where you would like to go but as a guide:
Starting from Penzance/ St Ives: £195 for 4 hours (half day) or £220 for 6 hours
Starting from Falmouth/ Truro/ Newquay: £240 for 6 hours
These prices are for exclusive use of the vehicle (including fuel costs) and Cornwall tour guide. The minibus can carry up to 8 passengers and the prices do not change depending on the number of people in your group. Prices do not include entrance into attractions (St Michael's Mount, Tintagel Castle and the Minack Theatre, for example).
It can be nice to get in a little walking when its good weather (but this is entirely up to you), so bring a coat and some sun protection just in case. Many of the more interesting sites require climbing over rough granite steps or walking over uneven ground but we usually find something to keep everyone happy if this a problem.
For half day tours we tend to stay on the Lands End Peninsula (west of St Ives and Marazion) and typically visit half a dozen sites (plus the scenic miles in between), stop off to enjoy a coffee and get back in time for a late lunch. Prehistoric monuments, fishing villages, stone circles and gorgeous countryside are the favourites but we happy to include any suggestions.
Full day tours allow us to explore almost all of Cornwall or to really delve into the mysteries of the Lands End Peninsula.
Due to the success of Doc Martin and the legends of King Arthur, it is becoming increasingly popular to combine a Tintagel Castle tour with a visit to Port Isaac. Please note however that to reach Tintagel from Penzance or St Ives there will be approximatley one and a half hours driving each way.
Falmouth Cruise Liners Day Tours
If your cruise liner is stopping off in Falmouth for a day, let us show you the best of Cornwall. There are plenty of bus tours organized through the cruise liners, but if you want to see and learn about the real Cornwall, a day tour with us will get you away from the crowds.
We can meet you as you come ashore, whisk you off to the ancient sites and winding lanes of the Lands End or Lizard Peninsula and get you back to Falmouth in time for your departing cruise liner, happy, tired and hopefully wanting to come back and visit Cornwall again.
